Day Trips
The tour covers the
morden city centre, the colourful market, parliament, the Railway, Museum
and the renowned National Museum where there are spellbinding displays
of early man, tribal regalia and the flora and fauna of Kenya. A visit
to the adjacent snake park is also included. The tour turns to the city
centre in time for lunch.
NAIROBI NATIONAL PARK
Day Trips
The tour starts at
2.00pm . This unique wildlife sanctuary is just a few kilometres from
Nairobi's busling city centre, but despite its proximity, different species
of mammals can be found there, including four of the 'Big Five'. The tour
also includes a visit to the animal orphanage at the park gate. The tour
returns to the city centre by sundown. Private tour can be organised in
the morning.
KAREN BLIXEN + GIRAFFE CENTRE 3 HOURS
Day Trips
Departs in the morning and afternoon. Drive towards the Ngong Hills and
pass the Ngong village to the Karen Blixen Museum, for many years her
home.
Later proceed to
the Giraffe centre to see and feed the famous Rothschild Giraffe and her
family.

Nairobi has many
restaurants offering a variety of cuisine. We recommend dinner or lunch
at the Carnivore which is famous for its succulent stew and barbecue dishes
as an excellent complement to a holiday in Kenya, especially as a welcome
or farewell dinner. The price includes transfers to and from Nairobi or
the airport.

A boma is a homestead
and just a few kilometres from the city, numerous homesteads reflecting
Kenya's cocktail of cultures have been faithfully re-created for visitors
to see traditional village life. But the greatest excitement during the
afternoon visit is the display of traditional dancing, music and song
performed in a splendid arena.
NAIROBI NATIONAL
PARK & BOMAS 1 DAY
Day Trips
The National Park, only 8 Kms from the city centre, is Nairobi's pride,
for no other building capital can boast a paradise of wildlife almost
on its doorstep. The morning is spent tracking some of the many species
found in the park, which include rhino, lion, buffalo, leopard and cheetah.
After lunch at Carnivore Restaurant continue to Bomas of Kenya for a fiesta
of traditional music and dance. The tour ends in Nairobi in the early
evening.
L. NAKURU NATIONAL PARK 1 DAY

Lake Nakuru Lodge
Lake Nakuru lies in the Volcano-strewn Rift Valley, one of the shares
of 8 lakes, which stretch the length of Kenya from Tanzania to Ethiopia.
The 160kms drive from Nairobi passes through highland farms of the Kikuyu
people before descending an escarpment into the dramatic landscape of
the Rift. Lunch is taken in the park and is followed by an extensive tour,
which the park abounds. On the return journey to Nairobi a stop is made
at Lake Naivasha where tea is taken among the fever trees and where bird-watchers
will be delighted in the fantastic array of birdlife.
AMBOSELI EXPRESS 1 DAY.
Day Trips
Amboseli National
Park lies within the shadow of mighty Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain.
Only nature in all her majesty could create such a backdrop to the wildlife
pageant found at Amboseli. Game is seen on much of the route to the Park
which crosses ochre plains where Maasai tend their cattle in an age-old
tradition. Lunch is taken at Lodge in the Park and afterwards another
game driven when lion, elephant and the splendid cheetah are all likely
to be seen. Return to Nairobi in good time for dinner.

Day 1 The tour leaves in the morning reaching Amboseli National
Park in time for lunch. An afternoon game drive, dinner and overnight

There are three "tree hotels" in the vicinity of Nyeri about
160 kms north of Nairobi. Treetops and the Ark are in the forests of the
Aberdare mountains and Mountain Lodge is on the slopes of Mt kenya.
Day 1 The drive passes the small industrial town of Thika surrounded
by extensive pineapple plantations. After crossing the Tana River, source
of much of Kenya's hydro power, the landscape changes and becomes much
lush as you climb into the rich farmlands of the Kikuyu people. Lunch
is taken at the Outspan/Aberdare/Mountain Lodge in Nyeri. In the afternoon
proceed toTreetops/Ark/Mountain Lodge for dinner and overnight game viewing.

Leaving Nairobi you drive down the escarpment and across the floor of
the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara Game Reserve stopping en route
for a picnic lunch. After arriving at your campsite you are taken on an
afternoon game drive within the vicinity of the camp. Dinner and overnight
in camp.
Day 2 Masai Mara
After an early breakfast you are taken on a morning game drive in the
Reserve with a visit to Hippo Pools. After lunch in camp enjoy a late
afternoon game drive to search for some of the game not yet seen. Dinner
and overnight in camp.
Day 3 Masai Mara - Nairobi

Day 1 Nairobi Rift Valley
Leaving Nairobi you drive down the escarpment to the Rift Valley floor,
past Lakes Naivasha, Elementaita and Nakuru to Lake Baringo arriving in
time for lunch, the afternoon at leisure, dinner and overnight in camp.
Hippo and crocodile abound in this fresh water lake but most visitors
are entranced by the multitude of birds with over 400 species having been
identified. A boat ride on the lake to view the birdlife can be arranged.
Day 2 Rift Valley Lakes
An early morning bird walk is possible and after breakfast if you wish
(Park fees extra) you depart for nearby Lake Bogoria. This soda lake,
with its shores of hot springs, boiling geysers and steam jets, stark
evidence of the volcanic origins of the Rift Valley, lies hidden behind
ridge after ridge of barren stony scrubland. Although primarily scenic,
Bogoria is by no means devoid of wildlife and birds are plentiful. You
later continue your journey to Lake Nakuru National Park, famous for its
millions of pink flamingo which seasonally feed on the abundant algae
which thrive in its shallow, warm waters. This park is also a Rhino Sanctuary,
and both black and white rhino are found here. Nakuru also provides one
of the best chances of seeing a leopard. Evening game drive, followed
by dinner and overnight in camp.
Day 3 Rift Valley - Nairobi
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, depart for Nairobi.

Fly in the morning to Samburu Game Reserve where you are met and transferred

Mt. Kenya (3 Days)
Designed for those who have a minimum amount of time and who want to reach
the third highest peak of Mt. Kenya, Pt. Lenana. This challenging, non-technical
ascent can be made by any normal, healthy person.
Day 1: Morning
spend sorting and organizing personal equipment for the mountain trek.
Lunch is at the base lodge (this is an extra charge for those not on fullboard
the previous night). In the afternoon drive to the roadhead of the Naro
Moru track, to the Meteorological Station, where we spend the night in
comfortable log cabins. A good day for acclimatization, for we will be
sleeping at an altitude of 10,000 ft. A short hike is taken in the afternoon
to help acclimatization.
Day 2: Hike
up into the Teleki Valley to our MacKinders Camp where there is a spectacular
view of the main peaks. Walking time approximately 4-6 hours. Overnight
Teleki Valley (14,000 ft).
Day 3: A pre-dawn
start is made to ensure a successful summit bid and in time for a clear
view of the majestic summit scenery. After climbing Pt. Lenana we return
to our base camp and then proceed down the mountain to the lodge.
